A High Court in Kano remanded a 30-year-old man, Bashir Abdullahi in a correctional facility for allegedly committing culpable homicide.
Abdullahi was alleged to have used cutlass to cut off one Ibrahim Umar's limbs leading to his death.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Umar Na'abba, ordered the remand of the suspect till 18th August 2020 when the case would come up for hearing.
The prosecutor, Barrister Lamido Sorondinki, said Abdullahi, a resident of Bachirawa Quarters Kano metropolis, was arraigned before the court on a one count charge of culpable homicide.
Sorondinki said the accused committed the offence on April 24, 2020 at about 5:00 p.m at Bachirawa Quarters, Kano, a when he cut off his victims (Umar's) limbs with a cutlass as a result of which he sustained serious injuries that led to his death.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
According to him, the offence contravenes section 221(a) of the penal code of Kano State.
