Court Adjourns Baffa Dan'agundi Tracker Scandal Case, Urged him to Appear

The Kano State Chief Magistrate Court Presided over by Muhammad Jibril has ordered Managing Director, Kano Road Transportation Agency (KAROTA) Baffa Babba Dan Agundi to appear in court on  the next adjourned date in respect of a case initiated by commercial Motorcycle drivers accusing him over issuance of allegde fake trackers.


The commercial motorcycle drivers in Kano had in the past weeks took KAROTA Boss Baffa Babba Dan'agundi before a magistrate court for suspecting him of saling fake trackers to them.


When the case came up today Wednesday for mention, counsel to the applicant, Barrister Abba Hikima prayed the court to issue a bench warrant against Baffa Babba Dan Agundi for his inability to appear in court without cogent and genuine reasons.


Earlier, the counsel to Baffa Babba Danagundi, a lawyer from Kano state ministry of Justice, Barrister Mutawakkil Ishaq has a preliminary objection urged the court to dismiss the case. 


In his argument Barrister Mutawakkil argued that, the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case, stressing that the case was not initiated on legal ground.


But in his response, Counsel to applicant, Barrister Hikima alledged that, The Managing Director of KAROTA Baffa Babba Danagundi has breaches the trust and abused the public office he occupiede by issuance of ordinary stickers instead of Electronic Device Machine after each of the applicants paid the sum of N9000.


In his ruling, chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril over ruled the prayer to issue a bench warrant against the Managing Director of KAROTA Danagundi.


However, The Chief Magistrate ordered Baffa Babba Dan'agundi to appear on the next Adjourned date stated to hold on the October 19th,2020.
