Jigawa Flood: PDP, Lamido Commiserate, Calls Govts To Support Victims

Following the incessant rains that coused flooding in most part of Jigawa State this year, The People Democratic Party has commiserate with the people whose the flood were affected in the state.


The Jigawa state Chapter of People Democratic Party (PDP) Family under the guidance of former-Govenor Sule Lamido issued this in a statement signed by the Chairman of the state caretaker committee Right honorable Umar Isa Mungadi in Dutse, the state capital.


The statement stated that, "Jigawa state PDP family under the able guidance and mentoring of our leader (Dr.) Sule Lamido, the state caretaker committee under the Chairmanship of hon. Umar Isa Mungadi wish to commiserate with the good people of Jigawa state over the statewide flood disaster."


According to the statement, people of the state are under severe hardship and pain caused by the devastating impact of the floods that ravaged most part of the state.


The state PDP chapter however, called on governments at all level and well-meaning people from in and out of the state to come to the aids of the floods victims to alleviate them from suffering.


"We pray for the quick recovery of Jigawa state people from shock and loss of properties they suffered due to floods," the statement added.


Recent estimate from the Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) shows that so far, over 30 people lost their lives, over One hundred thousand houses collapsed and farms products worth billion of naira were reported destroyed due to this year's floods which is still on in the state.
