FG Engages Independent Monitors To Identify Lacuna On Implementation of NSIP - Sadiya Faruq

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq says that the ministry has engaged a team of Independent monitors in order to checkmate the activities of the ongoing National Social Investment Program of the Federal government.
She made this statement today in Dutse, Jigawa state capital while flagging off the distribution of engagement letters and a set iPad to 20 newly engaged Independent monitors of the program in the state.
Sadiya Farouq therefore warned implementers of the federal government owned Program on dubious practices capable of regarding the desired aims and objective of the program.
Mrs Faruq represented by the Director of ICT in the ministry, Mr Aminu Tukur explained that, the Independent monitors after receiving training on the best way to trace all activities of the program would at the same time help in identifying challenges toward achieving the set objective of the federal government policy on this direction.
"The application, which is referred to as the Social Investment Management Information System (SIMIS), is a mobile and web-based Application designed for Monitoring beneficieries of the National Social Investment Programme, (NSIP) across the country," he highlighted
"The devises would help the ministry to deliver on it's mandate and contribute to the Buhari administration's vision of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty," said the Minister.
On his part, The Jigawa state NSIP Focal Person Bala Chamo stated that, the state government would continue to support the life savings and transforming program of the federal government targeted toward reduction of poverty and unemployment among Nigerians, especially youth.
He said that, the Independent monitors of the program would be paid a monthly stipend of N30,000, and they must meet up to 80% of their deliverables monthly to be eligible for their stipend.
