Member representing Rimin-Gado, Tofa and Dawakin Tofa, Engr. Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe has in a colourful ceremony distributed no fewer than 10 buses to ten beneficiaries to the tune of thirty million Naira for them to have the good taste of the much pronounced dividend of democracy.
Speaking during the event held yesterday at Doka town, Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, the lawmaker said, the beneficiaries can use the buses for commercial purposes to earn a living.
According to him, the beneficiaries were specifically chosen to complete and honor their immense contribution to the development of his constituency.
"I found it most expedient to initiate the empowerment drive at the time when the need for supporting youths and notable households to sustain their families became imperative," he added
"Such a laudable gesture is poised to reduce over depending on white collar jobs which have almost proven difficult to be secured," the legislator stressed.
Represented by his aid Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Mainasara, The lawmaker counseled the beneficiaries to adequately reciprocate the gesture by ensuring constant maintenance and proper utilisation of the vehicles.
However Hon. Jobe reiterated his commitment to willingly sustain the tempo as part of his commitment to live up to the expectations of his constituents.
Speaking in the same vein an official representative of the National Institute of Transport, Zaria, Engr. Lawal Ibrahim highlighted the procedures guiding the use of the vehicles distributed adding that using them for commercial purposes would serve as an additional impetus along with the prime reason behind giving them the vehicles.
Two of the beneficiaries Mukhtar Hussain and Naima Yakubu Dan Hakimi, thanked Honourable Jobe for the gesture and promised to make good use of the Vehicles.
The occasion was attended by prominent political stalwarts in the area who added tonic to the ceremony and commended the legislator for effecting a similar gesture in recent time.
