The Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy has announced the restoration of National Identification Number NIN Verification Service (NVS).
Newskeeper reports that, NVS Portal of the NIMC has been shutdown about two weeks ago due to reasons not disclosed by authorities concern which necessitated the closure and suspension of many transactions especially in the telecommunication sectors, Banking and other online activities in Nigeria.
In a press statement on Saturday by Kayode Adegoke, Head of NIMS Corporate Communications said that, the portal which went down few days ago due to maintenance by one of the commission's network service providers of its infrastructure has been fully restored.
The Commission's statement reads that... "Customers and service providers can now take full advantage of the two Verification platforms - Tokenization and NVS - which are both effective for verification and authentication of the National Identification Number."
However, Mr Adegoke's statement restated the commitment of the Commission to continue to come up with the new innovative identity management solutions to enhance its capacity to deliver on its mandate.
