Former Tetfund Boss, Baffa Bichi Donates Food Items To Needy In Kano

Former Executive Secretary of the tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) and Chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi has distributed food items worth millions of naira to the needy as part of the Ramadan gesture. 

The food items which included rice, cooking oil, Macaroni, sugar and noodles was distributed across members of the society. 


Over 10,000 people benefitted from the gesture irrespective of political party affiliation. 

Speaking at the distribution exercise on Saturday at his residence in BUK old Campus staff quarters, Dr Abdullahi Baffa Bichi said the gesture was part of his policy to help the less priveleged members of the society. 

He said times are hard now as people have been suffering due to harsh economic situation, pointing out that there is the need to support the needy. 

Dr Bichi while praying for an end to the current security challenges and other vices, however, called on wealthy individual to support and help the needy. 


"Our desire is to put smiles on the faces of the people in view of the harsh economic situation, therefore, what we did was to give out from what God has given us, we pray Almighty Allah to bless and accept our offerings," said Dr Bichi. 

He also urged electorate to ensure that they used there votes wisely in the election of represe tatives at all levels. 

He attributed the current situation in the country to the incompetent leadership which resulted in bad governance. 

Also speaking, the Director One 2 Tell 10 political group of Dr Bichi, Honourable Ghali Mu'azu said the gesture was done in good faith with a view to cushioning the hardship faced. 

Those who benefitted from the gesture expressed gratitude and pray Almighty Allah to reward him. 

It could be recalled that for over 10 years now, Dr Bichi has been distributing food items during fasting and other festivities. 

Many who benefitted from the legasse could not hold back tears and they said the gesture came handy. 

Some of the beneficiaries offered a special prayer for Allah to reward him abundantly.
