The Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has appealed to aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC to shield their swords, forgive and forget, so that the party can forge ahead and win elections come 2023.

He said that, "Everyone is important to us and we need your support in the party and we shall not let you down by the grace of God.”

The governor made the call during a meeting with all the APC candidates along with the reconciliation committee led by the Alhaji Bello Maitama at the state government house in Dutse, the state capital of Jigawa.

Governor Badaru explained that, for the party to be successful in the 2023 elections all hands must be on deck, and the responsibility to ensure that lies on the shoulders of all the candidates.

However, the governor in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant (Print Media) Ahmed Muhammad Danyaro urged the All Progressives Congress APC candidates to carry the party members along including members of the party that lost tickets.

“Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala is solely responsible for giving leadership to his servants when He wants and at the time He pleases. Mohammed Badaru can not make you a leader and can not deny you the opportunity to be a leader. That is Allah's duty,” he concluded.
