The Jigawa State Assembly has screened the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media Auwal Danladi Sankara who was nominated for the position of commissioner.
The Assembly screened the designed commissioner on Tuesday during its sitting.
While presenting the letter sent to the Assembly by governor Mohammed Badaru seeking for confirmation of the nominee to be appointed as commissioner, Speaker of the House Honorable Idris Garba said it is part of the constitutional responsibility of the House to screen any person that should be appointed as commissioner in the state.
He explained that, according to the letter received by the Assembly, "Sankara is a seasoned administrator with years of experience.
Shortly after moving the motion before the House, the member representing Ringim constituency Honorable Aminu Sule Sankara prayed to members of the House to allow the nominee just to "vow and go," considering the nominee's experience and contribution in the state.
Finally the House ananimously approved the prayer moved by honorable Ringim and confirmed the nominee for the appointment.
In his speech, Auwal Sankara promised not to disappoint the governor who nominated him and the entire people of Jigawa state under whose mandate the All Progressives Congress APC is governing.
According to him, he has been serving the state for the last seven years under the leadership of Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar since 2015. “I was the Special Assistant to the Governor on New media and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media in the second administration.”
