Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has flagged-off campaign for the gubernatorial, deputy gubernatorial, State Assembly and National Assembly contestants in the state.
Speaking at the event, held, Wednesday, in Gaya Emirate, Gaya town of Kano South Senatorial District, the governor listed many reasons why the APC gubernatorial candidate and his deputy are the most qualified candidates for the exalted positions in the state.
Beside that, Ganduje further challenged all other opposition parties to present similar contestants in the race.
"Our gubernatorial candidate Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has political history similar to mine. He was local government chairman of the most populous local government in Nigeria, Nassarawa local government and he was Commissioner of Agriculture, among other things," the governor said.
He added that, "The running mate, Murtala Sule Garo was also a former local government chairman, former state chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), a former Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.".
However, Mr Ganduje challenged that, "All our contestants are in the best position to govern the state. We are therefore challenging all other political parties to present to our state similar candidates, if they can."
NEWSKEEPER Learnt that, the State campaign flagg off in Gaya, marked fully the commencement of political rallies and activities in Kano state a head less than 94 days to 2023 general elections.
