Jigawa Declares Open 38th Statewide Qur'anic Recitation Competition

The Jigawa state government has declared open, competition on recitation of the holy Qur'an at state level as part of the preparation to participate in the upcoming National Qur'anic recitation competition to take place in December, this year.

The recitation competition which is the 38th edition, was flagged off, Monday, at the Jigawa state polytechnic, Dutse, the hosting venue of the competition.

Speaking during the inaugural ceremony of the yearly event, organised by the Jigawa state Islamic bureau, permanent secretary JIgawa state ministry for higher education, Muhammad Musa Yalleman stated that, about 270 competing student from the 27 local government areas of the state will participate in the recitation competition.

The permanent secretary who said the state government is committed to the success of the competition, therefore assured the excelling students at every winning categories of government support in every ramifications.

Also, he charged the participants to put more effort during the competition which is scheduled to be round up within the period of one week.

In a remark at the occasion, emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sunusi who observed and expressed happiness how younger ages dominated the qur'anic recitation competition pledged to assist the most performing ones among the competitors.

He asked them to redouble efforts in view of winning the forthcoming National as well as the international qur'anic recitation competition.
