The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has sensitised its the Zonal Officers and Center Officers of the 27 local government areas in the state ahead fixing time for the commencement date of airlifting the state intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the year 2024 Hajj exercise.
The sensitization was conducted, Wednesday, during a meet organised by the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board held at the conference hall of the Secretarial of Jigawa State Health Workers Association in Dutse.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo explained that, the purpose of the meeting was to update the officials on the progress made by the board in preparations for airlifting Jigawa state intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for this year's Hajj.
Ahmed Labbo emphasized that, the new Zonal Officers, Center Officers, and other relevant officials will during the event receive guidance on their responsibilities in Saudi Arabia, including familiarity with riyal currencies to assist Jigawa state pilgrims effectively.
He stressed the importance of adhering to the new Saudi Arabian laws applicable to pilgrims during this year's holy pilgrimage exercise.
According to the Director General, the board on its part has finalized all plans to kickstart the airlifting of the state intending pilgrims for this year's Hajj.
Also, he disclosed that, the Board has completed the issuance of visas to the intending pilgrims and provided them with yellow cards.
"At the moment, the board has submitted the visa documents to the bank to secure pilgrims (BTA) before commencing the airlift process," he highlighted.
Additionally, Labbo stated that, the board will soon convene a meeting with relevant stakeholders such as NAHCON and the choosen Max Airline company to approve the airlifting schedules for the intending pilgrims from Jigawa state.
NEWSKEEPER reports that, from Jigawa State, a number of 1,296 intending pilgrims, including government officials, will participate alongside with the Muslim faithfuls from the world to perform pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia this year.
