The Jigawa Social Protection Platform (JISOP) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State following a tragic fuel tanker explosion in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area.
It could be recalled that, this devastating incident occurred on Tuesday night and resulted in the loss of over 150 lives, with more than 100 people injured.
JISOP, comprising civil society organizations, media, academia, ethnic minority groups, and persons with disabilities, expressed deep sadness and sympathized with the families and relatives of the victims.
The platform's chairman, Shu'aibu Musa Kafin-gana, signed a statement conveying their condolences to the affected individuals and the state.
In the statement, JISOP Chairman described the incident as a tragic loss of precious lives, mostly youths, and offered prayers for the souls of the departed to rest in peace.
He also prayed for Almighty God to grant the families of the victims the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Kafin-gana, said that, The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and emergency preparedness to prevent such tragedies in the future.
