Kano PDP Gets New Executives As Fresh Leadership Begins

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State took a significant step towards revitalization as over 5,000 delegates gathered at the Sabon Gari Pillars Stadium on Saturday. 

The delegates convened to elect 39 new executive members, marking a crucial milestone for the party.

After decades of internal conflicts that left the party without credible leaders, the congress aimed to usher in a new era of unity and effective leadership. 

Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, a former Commissioner for Agriculture under Senator Kwankwaso, was poised to emerge as the party's chairman in Kano.

Halilu Abubakar Mazagari, National Chairman of the Electoral Panel, expressed optimism about the congress. 

He noted that the participation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders ensured the process's credibility.

Mazagari acknowledged that internal conflicts are normal in large parties like the PDP but hoped the new leadership would unite the party. His sentiments echoed the party's desire for cohesion and strength.

Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, Northwest National Deputy Chairman of the PDP, denied any internal wranglings. 

He described the party as a united family, emphasizing their focus on moving forward.

Gwarzo expressed confidence that, the PDP would take over the helm of affairs in the country by 2027. 

His statement underscored the party's determination to reclaim national leadership.
