Former NIS Boss Babandede Loses Mother |Newskeeper

The former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, has announced the passing of his mother at the age of 90.

Babandede, a Jigawa indigene, made the announcement in a statement, he issued today Friday begins by quoting a verse from the Holly Quran, saying, "We are from Allah, and to Him we will all return," I announce the death of my mother Hajia Uwani Babandede today. She was 90 years old and survived by two children, Hajiya Yelwa and myself, as well as more than 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren."

The former immigration boss's mother passed away on Thursday night at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano after a brief illness.

According to his statement, "Her funeral prayer was held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Masjid Zhera on Zoo Road, Kano, praying for his mother's soul, to rest in perfect peace in Aljannah Firdausi."

Babandede's loss comes at a difficult time for his home state of Jigawa, which is currently mourning the death of the mother and son of the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.

Recalls that the governor's mother, Maryam Namadi, passed away on Wednesday, while his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, died in a motor accident on Thursday, this week.

The people of Jigawa State are in a state of mourning, and Babandede's family is receiving condolences from relatives and friends.

It was reported that, the former immigration boss's mother was a respected figure in the community, and her passing has been met with sadness and sympathy.

Babandede, who served as the Comptroller-General of the NIS from 2016 to 2021, is a well-respected figure in Jigawa State.

It was learnt that the passing away of the former NIS boss is a personal loss for him, as the people of Jigawa State are standing with him during this difficult time.

Babandede's mother Hajia Uwani Babandede lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.

As the people of Jigawa State mourn the loss of Babandede's mother, they are also remembering the governor's mother and son, who passed away just two days ago.

Jigawa State is currently in a period of mourning, and the people are coming together from far and near for condolence and sympathy to both the governor, his family and the NIS former boss during this difficult time.
