The Jigawa state and local governments contributory pension scheme board has settled the retirement benefits, death and death pension balance of 487 ex-workers amounting to over N961Million for the month of September, this year.
The board stated that, out of the total number of the beneficiaries, 175 are ex-workers at the state level, 138 from local governments while 174 are those that leaves services at the level of local government education authorities in the state.
Speaking to newsmen in his office, Tuesday, in Dutse, on the summary of the terminal benefits for the month of September, 2020, The Executive Secretary of the board Alhaji Hashimu Fagam explained that, the expenditure comprised the retirement benefits, death benefits as well as death pension balance for ex-civil servants at both the state, local governments and local education authorities in the state.
However, The Executive Secretary said that, the payment of these entitlements of the staff that retired from service and those who died in service as well as pensioners in the state has already commenced.
He therefore revealed that in the current payment calandar, People that will receive their retirement benefits are 402 including those from the state, local governments and LGEAs that retired from the service as they will receive a total amount of over N826 million naira.
"There are 44 number of staff who died on service and they will be paid over N104 million naira to their next of kins while 41 next of kins to the deceased pensioners from both the three categories mentioned will receive the sum of over N30 million naira as outstanding pension balance," he emphasised
Moreso, The Executive Secretary while commending Governor Muhammad Badaru for his outstanding support on their activities therefore urged patriotic citizens of Jigawa state to expose anybody collecting money in the name of linking beneficiaries to the board for payment processing.
