Kaduna State Government has marshalled out plans to fully implement the revised Codification and Consolidation Law 2020 that mandates every citizen of the state to pay one thousand naira annually.

This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman, Kaduna Internal Revenue Service (KADRIS) Dr. Zayd Abubakar during a press conference held on the development in Kaduna.

He said that the State Government delayed the implementation of the revised law till 2021 due to the economic hardship occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Abubakar noted that prior to the revised obsolete law in 2020, citizens of Kaduna state were paying one hundred naira (N100) only but due to the economic changes and inflammatory trends, the State House of Assembly increased the development levy to one thousand naira (N1000) to meet the current realities.

The KADRIS Chairman however advised citizens of the State to comply with the revised law as formal organizations have since commenced the payment, saying people may reach to the Service for any clarifications.
