The speaker of the Kano state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa and the house Majority Leader, have resigned their positions.
Member representing Doguwa, Salisu Ibrahim who confirmed the incident to a Kano based online newspaper "Daily News 24" says the speaker resigned for personal reasons while the majority leader is yet to speak on his own reasons.
He said, both the resignation letters were tendered to and received by the House authority at about 1:08am this Tuesday.
According to Hon. Salisu Ibrahim Doguwa, “The speaker resigned on his personal reason best known to him.
On the resignation of the majority leader also, Hon. Doguwa said, no reason was stated behind resigning his position.
He said, A new speaker and majority leader would emerge during plenary session later in the day.
