NGO Sensitises Jigawa Students On Pneumonia/Malaria, Plans Advocacy To Lawmakers

A non governmental organisation, Save The Children International, Jigawa state office has embarked on massive enlightening campaign on the danger of Pneumonia and Malaria in the state.

The sensitization has been conducted in form of drama and debate among students of the Junior secondary school, Kudai, Dutse local government area.

The program which is part of the inspiring activities of the organization to create awareness on the life-threatening diseases such as Pneumonia and Malaria was aimed educating students from the grassroot.

The State Project Manager Comrade Abdullahi Magama while addressing the students therefore called on the policy makers to always identify the child killer diseases such as Pneumonia and Malaria so that lives of innocent children can be saved through special intervention.

He further explained why the debate and drama was organized among the students of the Junior Secondary schools Kudai.

“We organized this event in order to draw the attention of the populace as well as educating the young students to know the dangers of Pneumonia and Malaria as well as how to take the advocacy to the policy makers with a view to tackle it once and for all,” he pointed out.

On his part, The Education Secretary in Dutse local government area of Jigawa state, Alhaji Husseini Aliyu thanks organizers of the program for reaching out to the students in what appears to be a "catch them young" step to ensure that all hands are on desk in preventing and tackling the menace of Pneumonia and Malaria in the state.
