Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero

When I first saw the headline about the president's approval of some 42 traditional rulers to be appointed as chancellors of various institution of higher learning in Nigeria, I didn't waste my time searching on whether my very good friend, the Emir of Kano, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero is among them.
As I kept reading the story, my optimisim soon became a reality as I read that the emir is to be appointed the chancellor of the university of Calabar.
Honestly I was so excited on one hand and I was not surprised on the other, because Emir Aminu's wonderful vision, sterling qualities and excellent contribution to the good people of Nigeria are so outstanding that they cannot but be recognised.
As a man who never lost hope no matter the nature of my problem or the degree of my misfortune, I knew it was only a matter of time before his Highness would start accumulating more responsibilities primarily meant for the development of our nation.
I equally looked at the other traditional rulers appointed alongside Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero and I saw respected people across Nigeria's traditional institution; I truly believe that the federal government is moving towards the right direction of ensuring the unity of this country.
It is also interesting to say that with people like the Emir of kano in our tertiary institution, whom I know has a great passion for education, then I must confess that Nigeria's educational revival is only beginning.
I therefore first of all wish to congratulate the students, staff and management of the University of Calabar for yet another wonderful achievement .Also on behalf of Jasper Foundation to congratulate my good friend, the Emir of Kano Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero for this appointment as well as to thank the federal government for finding him worthy of this appointment. I equally congratulate all the other traditional rulers who made it to the list.
I hope and pray that our traditional rulers, like those before them will continue as elders, guiding our leaders to the right path. I believe this is an important milestone in our dear country and with this kind of development, Nigeria will continue to be a better place for us and those to come after us.
