Jigawa govt awards N2billion contract for facilities in basic, post basic, nomadic schools

Jigawa state government has approved the release of N1,928,551,448.60k for the award of contracts in the education sector as well as completion of some constituency projects across the state.

Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim stated this at the end of the weekly executive meeting held at Government House Dutse.

The commissioner said, the sum of N419, 949,119.48k was approved for the construction of 13no blocks of 6 seaters pit latrines and 11no hand pumps at Islamic Education Bureau Schools across the state and general renovation of some schools.

He explained that, the construction of wall fence and kitchen block at Government Arabic Secondary School Kaugama and Government Girl’s Arabic Secondary School Danzomo as well as construction of 3no blocks of 3 classrooms at Government Day Arabic Secondary School Kiri, Harbo and Maje. 

bala Ibrahim stated further that, the council in session has equally approved the sum of N119,275,350.27k to the State Agency for Nomadic Education for the execution of various number of developmental projects across the state.

Also approved by the council, were contract to the tune of N437,035, 99.82k for the supply of 2,238 pieces of furniture for Early Child Development Education, 5,874 set of Primary 1-3 furniture, 5,874 sets of Primary 4-6 as well as supply of 5,874 sets of Junior Secondary School Classroom furniture to be completed within 14 weeks period.

Newskeeper reports that, The Executive Council according to the commissioner also approved the release of the sum of N159,401,528.18k for the completion of constituency projects awarded to various companies across the state.
