2022 National Youth Game To Hold in Kano - Sports Minister

Nigerian Minister of Sports Mr Sunday Dare says that, the forthcoming "2022 National Youth Game" would be hosted in Kano.

The minister drop the hint, when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at his office, Saturday, explaining that, "This is the first time we are holding the Game outside University setting, Kano is the first state to host it."

Mr Dare informed the governor that he was in Kano to attend closing ceremony of Dala Hard Court.

According to a statement made available to newsmen in Kano by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Mr Abba Anwar, the minister said that, there are about ten thousand (10,000) Nigerian youth that will participate in the event. 

The statement quoted the Minister applauding the Governor  Ganduje for identifying with youth in the state and the nation as a whole, emphasising that, "I commended Kano for sending contingent to Ilorin and for attending Benin Sports Festival the other time."

In his response, Governor Ganduje thanked the Minister for identifying with Kano. Started that, "Let me start with the good omen you brought to Kano. That you are holding National Youth Game in the state next year 2022."

He revealed to the Minister that, "We are holding Sports Summit in Kano. The wisdom behind this, is to involve all stakeholders, particularly the private sector in all sporting activities. We are therefore extending our invitation to the Honourable Minister

"Kano state government would provide an enabling environment for the forthcoming National Youth Game to hold successfully," Ganduje assured.
