The Chairman House Committee on Power and Member representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal constituency Hon. Magaji Da"u Aliyu and some members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) state executives has narrowly escaped lynching by suspected aggrieved members of his constituency.
It was reported that, The incident happened when some aggrieved members blocked road to prevent the convoys of the legislative member from passing into the area for a political event organized by him (the lawmaker).
According to some eye witnesses, The aggrieved members who were hundreds in numbers and well armed with cutlass, Sticks and other dangerous weapons block the road and threatened to attack any one who dear to pass through the roadblock they mounted in Kukuma town of Buji local government of the state.
An APC supporter in the area who pleaded anonymity, said the angry youths, took the action to expressed their dissatisfaction with bad representation given to them at the national assembly by their Rep member Hon Magaji Da"u Aliyu.
"The aggrieved youths tried to stop us as they surrounded the road chanting 'Bamayi, Bamayi, Bamayi' meaning we're not with you, " the eye witness accounted.
He continued that,... "The situation has led to a direct confrontation between the aggrieved members and political thugs in the entourage of the Hon member which consequently led to the burning down of bill boards and other structures that carried political symbol in the area."
Responding when contacted on the incident, a legislative aide to the Member, Barrister Murtala Isa said
that, It was only a minor disagreement among the supporters of the party and added that he knows the youths who blocked the road.
However, he insisted that, the incident was not an attack on the member's convoy.
