Gov. Abba Kabir Declares State of Emergency to End Water Scarcity in Kano

The Kano State Governor Abba Kabir has Declares state of emergency to cushion the lingering problem of water scarcity in across the state.

The Governor made this disclosure on Tuesday, during an official inspection tour to the Challawa water treatment plant.

NEWSKEEPER Reports that,
the Governor's surprised visit may connected to ascertain the lecel of decay of some government facilities as well as the projects abandoned by the past regime of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

It's recall that. Governor Abba Kabir while receiving the handover note to be precise on 29th, May, 2023 had vividly cleared air that, he'll take appropriate actions where his government is not satisfied after scrutinising the report of the transition.

Speaking during the visit, Engr. Abba Kabir gave one week ultimatum within which the agency should summit it's demands to his office towards curtailing issue of water scarcity in the state.

He, therefore, expressed worry on the dilapidated condition of the facilities at the water treatment plant due to lack of commitment of the immediate past administration adding that, very soon the issue of water shortage in all corners of the state will be history.

However, the new Governor reiterated that, his government will not derail from its campaign promises and urges for more prayers and cooperation of the residents of Kano and beyond.

Briefing the Governor after going around the facilities, the Director Production of the Challawa Water Treatment Plant, Sakabu Lawal explain that, currently out of the six main water pumping machines at the plant, only two are working.

Meanwhile, the new Governor had earlier paid official visit to access the level of decay at some government agencies among which includes; School of Health Technology - Madobi, Murtala Muhd Specialist Hospital, Kano State Drugs and Consumables Supply Agency, The abandoned Wuju-wuju road, Dandolo Cemetery among others.
