Kano state government has assured to do everything possible to give Internal Revenue Generation (IGR) right position given by the law.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin when the Technical Working Group on Medium Term Revenue Strategy (MTRS) paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Alhaji Jibrin stated that the state government have initiates many programmes and plans for the development of the state noted that such initiatives can only be actualized when the funds are available.
He maintained that plans are under way to centralize issuances of a high secured receipts to eligible tax payers by the ministry of finance.
Earlier,the team leader of the technical working group ,Alhaji Sammani Ibrahim stated that they are in the Commissioner's office to intimate him on the group activities and seek support.
Alhaji Ibrahim who is also the director, MDAs, Kano State Internal Revenue Services stated that the desired objective can only be achieved when all the relevant agencies on internal revenue generation works in synergy and payment should be directly to coppers of state Internal Revenue Services as stated by law.
According to the statement by the Director,
Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Finance Bashir Habib Yahya said, members of the technical working group on Medium Term Revenue Strategy (MTRS) consist of relevant officers on revenue generation from various MDAs and representatives of civil society organizations.
