The Nigeria Police Force has pledged to maintain and improve the existing relatively peace and security atmosphere in JIgawa state.
This was disclosed by the newly posted Commissioner of Police deployed to the state Mr. Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi during his maiden interaction with journalists, held, Thursday, at the premises of Police Officers Mess, JIgawa state Command, Dutse.
The new Commissioner of Police Mr. Abdullahi explained that, the Command under his leadership will be guided by the outlined principles of 'Intelligence led Policing, Community Policing, Knowledge and Collaboration' with the sister security agencies toward ensuring utmost peace in the state.
He then stated that, he will passionately mobilised the entire officers and men of the Command to bring policing closer to the people through the global practices and objectives of 'Effective crime control, Civil disorder control and Reduction in fear of crime'.
However, on the issue of lingering seasonal farmers and herders unrest in some part of the JIgawa state, Mr. Abdullahi revealed that, "Critical stakeholders will be incorporated to jointly address the menace for a safer society".
"I assure the people of JIgawa state that through hard work, professionalism and partnership, crime and criminality will be reduced to the barest minimum," he affirmed.
The new Police Commissioner also listed some of the achievement recorded by the Jigawa state command in the past ten days among which includes; the arrest of 3 suspected kidnappers, 10 suspected armed robbers, 25 suspected thieves/vandal and arrest of suspected arms manufacturer and 2 suspected human traffickers, to mentioned but a few.
