Kano state government has directed the head of stores in all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state to take inventories of government properties and other scraps materials within a two weeks and present to the ministry of finance.
The Commissioner Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin Fagge gave the order, Monday, while declaring opened a 2-day workshop organised to all store officers and their assistants across MDAs in the state.
Ibrahim Fagge warned the store officers to avoid selling any government property whether scrap materials or valuable properties without the consent of the ministry.
"Even the ministry must not decide or act according law instead they should wait for the approval of the state executive governor," he emphasized
Mr. Fagge according to a statement from the Director Public Enlightenment of his ministry, Bashir Habib Yahya said that, "Kano State Government under leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf would do everything possible to improve the capacity and efficiency of the Civil Servants in the state.
He explained that, the capacity building workshop will assist toward improving knowledge of the civil servants to contributes their inputs and efficiency more to the development of the entire state.
In a remark earlier, the state Accountant General, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam represented by Director, Revenue, Monitoring and Evaluation, Malam Ibrahim Aliyu pointed that, the workshop was main to update the knowledge and skills of store officers in the state.
