Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has recognized journalist Abba Sa'ad Limawa for his exceptional honesty and integrity.
Limawa, a staff of Jigawa State Radio Corporation, demonstrated his sincerity by handing over a large sum of money he found during the 2024 Hajj operation in Saudi Arabia.
The governor commended Limawa's actions as a reflection of the "Jigawa spirit" and recommended him for national honors.
Additionally, the state government offered Limawa a fully funded Hajj slot for 2025 as a morale booster.
Governor Namadi made the announcement while receiving the 2024 Hajj Exercise report from the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, at the Government House in Dutse.
The governor's recognition and rewards for Limawa's honesty serve as a testament to the state's values and appreciation for integrity.
During the 2024 Hajj operation, Abba Sa'ad Limawa, a staff of Jigawa State Radio Corporation, discovered a large sum of money in various international currencies, including US dollars, Russian rubles, and Saudi riyals, near the Holy Prophet's Mosque in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
Limawa handed over the millions of naira to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in Madina, demonstrating his patriotism and sincerity.
Governor Umar Namadi praised Limawa's actions, attributing his honesty to Allah's guidance.
He expressed gratitude and prayed that, Limawa's good deed would lead him to paradise, recognizing that finding and returning such a large sum of money was a remarkable act of integrity.
Governor Umar Namadi announced that the fully funded Hajj seat for 2025 is just one of the rewards for Abba Sa'ad Limawa's exemplary conduct as a representative of Jigawa State and Nigeria.
The governor expressed his desire to further honor Limawa, stating that if God permits, he will receive another fully sponsored Hajj seat in 2025.
Governor Namadi commended the 2024 Hajj Team for their outstanding performance, describing the exercise as the most successful in the state's history.
He attributed the success to the leadership quality and experience of the Amirul Hajj, chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Emirs, saying it was expected given his capabilities.
Earlier, the Emir of Alhaji Hadejia Adamu Abubakar Maje commended Governor Umar Namadi's financial interventions, particularly during the currency exchange instability before the pilgrims' departure.
He noted that, the governor's offer of over N1.2 billion significantly contributed to the exercise's success.
The Emir praised the governor's support, stating that it made the exercise hitch-free. He expressed his gratitude, acknowledging that he had never experienced such success in his previous experiences as Amirul Hajj.
The Emir concluded by praying for God's continued strength and guidance for the governor and his administration, recognizing their crucial role in the exercise's success.
