Gov Yusif Stops Convoy to Help Repair Broken Vehicle Conveying Journalists

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusif showed kindness and consideration by stopping his convoy to ensure the safety and well-being of the press team, whose vehicle had broken down, leaving the journalists stranded.

The incident occurred during the governor's inspection tour of projects in Albasu and Garko local government areas on Sunday, amidst heightened fear and worsening insecurity in the northern region.

Without hesitation, Governor Yusuf ordered his convoy to stop, prioritizing the well-being of the press team over his tight schedule. This selfless act was a surprise to many, given the security concerns and fear that have gripped the northern region in recent times.

It was gathered that, the convoy came to a halt, causing a temporary disruption in the governor's scheduled inspection tour. 

Also, it was reported that, The press team's vehicle was assessed, and repairs while Governor Yusuf waited patiently, ensuring that the journalists were safe and their vehicle was fixed.

As the minutes ticked by, the crowd began to grow, curious onlookers gathering to witness the unexpected delay. Despite the commotion, Governor Yusuf remained calm, his focus solely on the stranded press team and all other members of his convoy.

Confirming the incident, Chairman of the Government House Press Crew Adamu Dabo said, "This is not the first time, that the Governor showed similar kindness, leadership by example."

"The incident happened to one of our extra vehicle (Hilux) conveying photographers, sound managers and other social media personnel which it's tyre were deflated but Masha Allah, finally it was repaired as the crew onboard were able to continue their work, capturing the Governor's inspection tour on projects in the region."

He added that, "The 25-minute waiting with the Governor seemed like an eternity, given the busy schedule and security concerns as the commitment showed his unwavering concern on welfare and safety of the people working under him."

This incident has sparked widespread praise for Governor Yusuf, who has demonstrated that compassion and humanity can prevail even in challenging times. His actions have set a high standard for leadership in the region.

As the Governor's convoy resumed its journey, the press team's vehicle in tow, the crowd dispersed, buzzing with stories of the unexpected delay while Governor Yusuf's inspection tour continued, with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the people.

Another member of the press in the governor's convoy Abdullahi Alkasim commented that, "In a region plagued by insecurity and fear, the governor's actions have reminded us that leadership is not just about projects and policies but also about people and compassion.

"His 25-minute wait for a stranded press team will be remembered as a testament to his commitment to humanity," Abdullahi added.
