Ambassador Yunusa Hamza, the revered Falakin Shinkafi, has joined a chorus of northern critics and concerned citizens in condemning the new tax bill that recently passed its second reading at the Senate.

The traditional title holder expressed deep worries about the bill, citing its potential to wreak havoc on the northern economy.

It would be recalled that, the proposed new tax bill has been a subject of controversy since its introduction, with many arguing that it will disproportionately affect the northern states.

According to Ambassador Hamza, in a new audio obtained by NEWSKEEPER, "the bill, if passed into law, will only serve to cripple the economies of northern states, favoring only one or two southern states."

He noted that this will exacerbate the existing economic disparities between the north and the southern region of the country.

The ambassador's concerns are not isolated, as many northern groups, elites, and concerned citizens have also rejected the bill.

They argue that the proposed tax will further burden the already struggling northern economy, leading to widespread poverty and unemployment.

Ambassador Hamza therefore warned northern legislative members at the National Assembly about the dangers of passing the bill.

He echoed the masses' total rejection of the proposed bill, stating that it may arouse the wrath of the masses, leading to unrest in the current hardships situation.

The ambassador's stance on the matter is significant, given his position as a respected traditional title holder. His voice adds weight to the growing opposition against the bill, which many see as a recipe for economic disaster in the north.

"As the debate over the bill continues, it remains to be seen whether the concerns of the masses would be considered," Ambassador Hamza remarked.

"With this bill when passed, the fate of the northern economy hangs in the balance," the traditional tittle holder hinted

However, the Falakin Shinkafi who determined to make his voice heard on issues of national interest noted that, the proposed tax bill will only serve to exacerbate the suffering of the masses, over their general welfare

It was observed that, Ambassador Hamza's intervention has brought the issue to the forefront once again, highlighting the need for careful consideration and consultation.

NEWSKEEPER learnt that Ambassador Yunusa Hamza's stance on the proposed President Tinubu's tax bill is a clear indication of the growing opposition against it.
