Senator Abdulhamid Malam Madori, (APC), representing Jigawa North East Senatorial zone, has thrown his weight behind Governor Umar Namadi's bid for a second term in office.
Speaking at the 4th round of the Government and Citizens Engagement Program held on Sunday at Birniwa Local Government Area, Malam Madori praised the governor's performance during his first tenure.
"The present Governor, Umar Namadi, has done well in his first tenure, therefore no need for anybody to think of challenging him in the 2027 election," Malam Madori said.
He believes Governor Namadi deserves to serve a second term in 2027 due to his outstanding performance.
Malam Madori urged politicians in the state to rally behind Governor Namadi and support his re-election bid rather than contesting against him.
The senator's comments suggest a united front behind Governor Namadi's leadership, which may influence the party's nomination process.
"With Governor Namadi's impressive performance, the stage is set for a potentially uncontested re-election bid in 2027," the senator noted.
A key APC member, and serving senator, Malam Madori said it's timely to consider endorsement bid for the governor, expressing that Namadi has done well in his short time in office and is committed to serving the people.
The senator has also promised to continue providing dividends of democracy to his constituents.
