The Kano State Commissioner of Education Muhammad Sanusi Kiru has warned all private school proprietors in the state to desist from charging fees from parents in the names of Covid-19 test.
The Commissioner who explained that, government has already provided every needed facilities for the schools including the private ones in the state called on parents to promptly report any private schools that demands money for conducting Covid-19 test on their children.
Mr Kiru gave the warning while feilding questions from journalists in his office on the preparation ahead reopening of schools forthcoming Monday for the final year students, saying that, government will take decisive action against any school that is reported extorting money in respect of Covid-19 test.
"Government would disinfect all affected private and public schools before the slated date for resumption of the schools which is on 10th August," he emphasised.
The Commissioner categorically pointed out that, " Government, will provide facemasks for staff and students in both public and private institutions as well as provide hand sanitizers."
However, He advised that, parents can as well complement this gesture by providing their children with extra facemarks and 100ml hand sanitizers for use during their trip to and from schools.
